Programming
Programming
The summer and after-school programs include a variety of activities including:
Reading Programs
Children use a computer-based activity that is proven to improve reading and comprehension skills.
Science Exploration
Through hands-on experiments, children will grow in their understanding of the natural and man-made worlds.
Field Trips
Field trips to local museums, the pool and more can provide educational and fun experiences for children.
Enrichment Activities
From academics to recreational activities, the Achievement Academy partners with multiple community organizations to enhance children's experiences in the program. The Achievement Academy also partners with the Cedar Rapids Public Library, Girl Scouts, Indian Creek Nature Center, and many others for routine enrichment opportunities.
Social and Recreational Activities
Groups games utilizing the outdoor playground can teach children about exercise, sportsmanship and teamwork. Zones of Regulation and PARRT curriculum is used to develop emotional regulation, conflict resolution and social skills.
Cost
The cost of the academic program is assessed on a sliding scale fee based on each individual family’s income. We work to make the program affordable for all families. Childcare Assistance (CCA) is also accepted.
